Hennessey 20
I wish I was 20 again, I was much more handsome then…. Honest….. I promise!!!!! This was a photo created by Josh Yospyn. A talented photographer I met at a DC Social Meetup yesterday. He was working with an Alienbee ABR800. It definitely has a different feel to it. He paid me a compliment on his blog but I think the photo is a little scary. And to think, I look at that in the mirror everyday. I like the ring flash though. It definitely was a powerful tool. Many thanks to Ferrell for hosting this event, and Heather and Nick for getting it organized. I really like spending the afternoon with photographers. I always come away with new lesson learned. Ferrell’s space is great. If offered so many locations to shoot. A photographer’s dream. I definitely will be purchasing his book Complete Guide to High Dynamic Range Digital Photography I believe he said it will be released in May. Looking at the advance copy, it will definitely be worth the purchase if you are interested in HDR at all.
Today’s lesson was personal interaction. I’ve always been the type that took a while to warm up to people and get involved. Watching Josh yesterday was enlightning. He is great at getting his subject at ease. Not just me but everyone I saw him interact with. He had a strong idea about what direction he wanted to take the photograph and really eased his subjects in that direction. He struck me as the type of photographer who would spend a few hours with you if he figured that what it would take to get that one shot. I could learn from that. Even though he spelled my name wrong
